Human First AI Strategy

Internal Capability Build

12 Months

Context

Over the last 12 months StepChange has built its AI capability in-house, deliberately and in the open. The roadmap runs across four phases: a human-first strategy and honest capability assessment first, method development, live client demonstrations, a certified training program and completed case studies.

Over 100 documented methods now span 40 business functions, each tested internally before it went near a client engagement. Measured against manual baselines they are delivering potential efficiency improvements of around 25% and a 40% improvement in deliverable quality, with 200+ specialised professionals able to apply them across critical infrastructure and government work.
